Guidelines for Producing a Special Event

Neighborhood organizations in all cities host special events such as outdoor festivals, street fairs or carnivals. And this requires working with and receiving permission from government agencies.

Experienced with organizing about 350 special events throughout Chicago, The Mayor's Office of Special Events has created its Special Events Resource Guide and Special Events Permit Package, which includes practical ideas that other towns and cities may wish to incorporate.

Some highlights:

(c) 2007 Rob Hard, RH Communications, Inc.
In Chicago, municipal code requires organizations to submit a formal application that agrees to the following:
No fee may be charged for admission (set a donation amount).
Food vendors must be licensed and possess certification.
Liquor vendors must be licensed (beer and wine only).
Merchandise vendors must be licensed.
Chicago Transit Authority must be notified.

Thanks to http://eventplanning.about.com/od/communityfestivals/tp/public_event_guidelines.htm for the above information.

Nice Feedback about Laura

Laura is an excellent high energy organizer. She knows what she do very well and always turn a dull and boring events into an electrifying live party. A crowd of over 500 people is never a problem for her. Thank you Laura for being such a great organizer for the events we had together. It will never be that exciting without you.

I've worked with Laura for couple of seminars and I must say she is a no-nonsense, direct approached, and get the job done kind of person. Yet she always has her way of making people comfortable with her.
If you're looking for someone to put together a seminar, party or even a get together, I'm sure you want her to be that person. Gonna be fun.

In Chicago

Well if creative event planning doesn't happen in Chicago every day,
I'm not sure where, then.

The best place (which i'm sure is quite expensive) would be to host
your event at the Navy Pier http://www.navypier.com/events/index.html

How beautiful would that be! There is so many after the event places you
could take small or large groups to. Sears tower, John Hancock Center, Cheese
cake factory (my favorite restaurant!), shopping, dining, clubs, oh the list
goes on for ever!

This would be a great "out of the box" location to hold events and really
take it to the next level.
Go on start planning today!
